Preliminary AML Check

Last updated: June 2, 2026

1. Why is a preliminary check necessary?

MonetaGO.Exchange recommends verifying cryptocurrency before you send it to the service’s address. Even if you haven’t done anything suspicious yourself, the coins may have previously passed through addresses and services that AML providers flag as risky.

A preliminary check helps you:

  • reduce the likelihood of your request being suspended;

  • identify problematic sources of funds in advance;

  • avoid unnecessary document requests and delays;

  • understand whether a transaction meets our risk thresholds—both in terms of the overall Risk Score and individual categories.

The full procedure for verification, suspension, and refunds in cases of high risk is described in the AML/KYC policy on the monetago.exchange website.

2. What to Prepare in Advance

Before starting the verification process, have the following on hand:

  • the wallet address from which you will be sending funds;

  • the exact name of the asset (e.g., USDT, BTC, ETH);

  • the transfer network (TRC20, ERC20, BEP20, TON, SOL, etc.);

  • an email address to receive the report, if the selected service requires it.

3. How to perform the check

3.1. Any reliable AML analyzer that provides a general Risk Score and a breakdown by risk categories will work—solutions based on GetBlock, Crystal, Chainalysis, Elliptic, or comparable providers.

3.2. If it’s more convenient to use an aggregator, you can check the address through services integrated with GetBlock—for example, via the AML section on BestChange or a similar interface.

3.3. Basic procedure:

  1. Enter the wallet address from which the transfer will be sent.

  2. Select the asset and the exact transfer network.

  3. Run the analysis and wait for the report.

  4. View the overall (aggregated) Risk Score and the detailed breakdown by category.

  5. Compare both indicators with MonetaGO’s thresholds (section 4.3 and section 5).

4. How to Read the Report

4.1. Consider both the overall Risk Score and the breakdown by source of funds. An overall score above 50% may result in the suspension of the application and the withholding of funds even if individual categories are within normal limits (see section 4.3).

4.2. Risks are not cumulative across individual categories. A decision is made if the threshold is exceeded in at least one category.

4.3. The overall Risk Score is a single metric ranging from 0 to 100%. MonetaGO’s indicative scale:

  • 0–20% — Low Risk;

  • 21–50% — Medium Risk;

  • 51–75% — High Risk;

  • 76–100% — Very High Risk.

Transactions with an overall Risk Score above 50% are considered high-risk: the request may be suspended, funds may be held until the verification is complete, you may be asked to confirm the source of funds, and a decision may be made to refund or deny service in accordance with AML/KYC policies.

5. MonetaGO Threshold Values

5.1. Very High Risk

Any risk percentage above 0% in these categories leads to immediate suspension of the transaction:

  • Enforcement Action;

  • Fraudulent Exchange;

  • Terrorist Financing;

  • Child Abuse / Human Trafficking.

5.2. High Risk

Exceeding 1% in any of these categories makes the transaction high-risk—it may be flagged for further review:

  • Black Market / Darknet Market;

  • Illegal / Crime-related Activities;

  • Scam / Fraud;

  • Ponzi / HYIP;

  • Mixer / Tumbler / Privacy Tool;

  • Malware / Ransomware;

  • Stolen Funds / Hack / Exploit;

  • Drainer Wallets;

  • Blackmail / Sextortion.

5.3. Medium Risk

Typically, a transaction is processed if the indicators do not exceed the following thresholds:

  • Gambling — up to 25–30%;

  • Sanctions — up to 4–5%;

  • Adult Services — up to 40%;

  • OTC Brokers — up to 30–40%;

  • High-Risk Exchange — up to 20–25%.

6. What happens if the thresholds are exceeded

6.1. The request is processed as usual if the total Risk Score is no higher than 50% and the category indicators do not exceed the thresholds specified in Section 5.

6.2. If a transaction is classified as Medium Risk in certain categories but we deem it undesirable, we reserve the right to cancel the exchange and return the asset to the original address.

6.3. If any categories are classified as High Risk or Very High Risk, or if the overall Risk Score exceeds 50%:

  • processing of the request is suspended;

  • we may request confirmation of the funds’ origin, and in certain cases, verification (a selfie with a passport and a short video confirmation);

  • you usually have up to 7 business days to provide the documents;

  • if there are no documents or they are insufficient, the verification period may be extended up to 30 business days.

7. Practical recommendations before sending

  • If possible, send funds from a personal wallet or other account details that you can verify ownership of.

  • Do not use mixers, anonymizers, third-party transit addresses, or questionable OTC platforms.

  • Keep a record of deposits, screenshots, receipts, and other proof of the funds’ origin.

  • If the report shows an overall Risk Score above 40% or borderline values by category, contact MonetaGO support before sending funds.

  • Before a large exchange, make a test transfer for a small amount.

8. Important Note

The preliminary AML check is advisory in nature and does not guarantee automatic execution of the request. The final decision is made by the service—taking into account data from its own control systems, the results of checks by external providers (overall Risk Score and breakdown by category), the specifics of the exchange direction, and the requirements of the partner infrastructure, in accordance with AML/KYC policy.

9. Where to check for free

You can check an address for free—this is sufficient for a preliminary assessment before sending:

  • BestChange — free check at bestchange.ru/report. Suitable if you already use exchange monitoring services.

  • BitOK — Telegram bot @BitOK_AML_bot, up to 5 free checks. Send the bot your wallet address, select the network, and receive a report.

Both services provide an overall Risk Score and a breakdown by category. Refer to sections 4 and 5 of this page for an explanation of the metrics.
